The partnership with Marcegaglia

Processing a total of 1 million tons of steel per year, Marcegaglia Specialties is a global leader in the production of welded stainless steel tubes, used across a wide range of sectors, including the automotive industry.
The partnership between Marcegaglia Specialties and Pantani Group (specifically PAC & PAD) was established in 2010, with the goal of investing in the production of mufflers for the automotive sector, through Pantani Group’s know-how and expertise in tube cutting.
Company history
Pantani Divisione Tubi seized the opportunity created by this partnership and focused on establishing a division entirely dedicated to tube cutting for the production of mufflers.
PAC (Pantani Automotive Cutting) was founded in 2019 following the transfer of a business unit from Pantani Divisione Tubi Srl. In 2011, at the initiative of the company’s management, Pantani Divisione Tubi diversified its core business by entering into a service agreement with Marcegaglia Specialties of Forlì, part of the Marcegaglia Group, for exhaust tube cutting. At that time, the company operated from a production facility of approximately 4,900 square meters.
The activity is still carried out at the same location (Via Casadei 1, Forlì), now with over 8,000 square meters of covered area and an additional 10,000 square meters of outdoor space.
In its first year of operation, PAC cut approximately 5,600,000 components, reaching a total of 13,000,000 cuts in 2022 and around 15,000,000 in 2023.
From this automotive-focused production line, PAC Srl (Pantani Automotive Cutting) was established. PAC’s management has set long-term success as its strategic objective, pursuing it through the consolidation of its relationship with Marcegaglia, a strong focus on customer expectations, the continuous introduction of new services, ongoing monitoring of competitors’ strategies, and an unwavering commitment to product quality, on-time delivery, and full compliance with contractual requirements.
Despite the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting downturn in the automotive industry, the company has succeeded in gaining market share.
A key strategic tool has been the adoption and continuous improvement of a Quality Management System aligned with the applicable requirements of the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standard. This system, based on risk-based thinking, ensures that business processes are more reliable and consistent, while minimizing costs and losses related to deviations and non-conformities.
More recently, PAC has decided to invest in new machinery and new markets, further expanding its operations. In collaboration with its partner Marcegaglia, the company has embarked on a development path focused on tube cutting for applications in the electrical, energy, and related industries.
